Holiday at the Hotel Le Agavi: sweeter with the honey by Rifugio degli Dei

Our 5-star Luxury hotel in Positano leaves nothing to chance, we want every moment of your day, even the briefest one, to be perfect. That's why breakfast, the sacred beginning of each day, in our opinion deserves special attention.

From the composition of the buffet, with sweet and savoury specialties, to the service, until the idyllic atmosphere, accompanied by the tune from a mandolin and the warm heat from the sun. Homemade cakes, fresh fruit and carefully-crafted jams, and we could not forget the honey, chosen with love for our guests.

Our honey comes from the Rifugio degli Dei Country House, a guarantee of quality and passion for good things.

 

Authentic taste and fragrance from our Land

 

Every day we love to promote the beauty and treasures of our Coast, so what is better than choosing a great local product to accompany your first morning coffee?

In fact, the farm Rifugio degli Dei was born in Arienzo di ​​Positano, about 3 kilometres from our hotel. Mrs. Anna, owner of the estate, has always cultivated a passion for bee-keeping, which she conveyed to her nephews.

The production of honey is as precious as it is limited: the great respect for the industrious insects and the work marked by the times of nature guarantee an intense taste but small amounts. The variety harvested in May is mainly wildflower honey, with amber tones and intense aromas. The excellent organoleptic properties make it a special food for a tasty and healthy breakfast.

In August takes place the second harvest of the honeydew, different from the wildflower honey because of the action of bees on berries and leaves of certain local plants. The less sugary taste and the darker colour are a hallmark. The peculiarity of this product is that it can be found only in some areas, on the Amalfi Coast, where there are no chestnut trees.

 

From a passion, a job to love

 

The everyday life of a beekeeper is far from being easy, but Ottavio Fusco, one the most active members of the farm, does not feel this fatigue at all. He defines his job a deep passion, which requires commitment in the different periods of the year, but repays every effort amply.

At the beginning of the year the analysis of the beehives occurs, between April and May, and the harvest of the wildflower honey begins. In August we continue with the honeydew and with the suitable treatments to preserve the quality of production.

A harmonious repetition of love gestures.

A love that, given the limited quantity of the production, the owners of the estate share with their closest friends and with the structures deserving all this sweetness.

As the Hotel Le Agavi, closely linked to the Rifugio degli Dei for years. In fact, Ottavio Fusco knew Dott.Aldo Capilongo and today keeps on cultivating a relationship of friendship and trust both with the Capilongo family and some members of the staff, as the chef Lugi Tramontano and his wife and sommelier Nicoletta Gargiulo.
